- You can delete your history at any time.
Who we are
Pip is made by JSX Games Ltd, a company registered in Wales, UK (company number [COMPANY NO.]), registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean JSX Games Ltd. If you have a question about this policy, see Contact.
What data Pip uses
Camera
When you scan, Pip reads the camera feed to detect QR codes and barcodes. This is processed entirely on your device. Camera images are not saved, and nothing from the camera is sent to us or anyone else.
Scan and creation history
Pip keeps a history of the codes you scan and create so you can find them again. This history is stored locally on your device. We cannot see it. If you use the Export feature, Pip creates a ZIP file of your history, and you choose where it goes — once shared, that file is handled by whichever app or service you send it to.
Settings
Your app preferences are stored on your device so Pip remembers them.
What we don't collect
Pip has no sign-in and does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, advertising identifier or usage analytics. Pip does not include advertising or tracking software.
Crash reports from Apple
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics. We use these only to fix bugs. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Permissions
Pip asks for camera access so it can scan codes. [IF APPLICABLE: Pip may also ask for photo library access if you choose to scan a code from an image or save a QR code you've created.] You can change permissions at any time in your device's Settings app. Pip will still let you create codes and view your history without camera access.
Third parties and scanned content
Codes often contain links to websites or apps run by other people. When you choose to open one, you leave Pip, and that site or app's own privacy policy applies. We aren't responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites. Pip shows you the link before opening it so you can decide.
Pip is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's handling of your data (for example, downloads and purchases) is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your history stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete individual items or clear all history from within the app, and deleting Pip removes all of its data from your device. Because we don't hold any of your data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
Pip is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR, you have rights over your personal data, such as the right to access, correct or delete it. Since Pip doesn't collect personal data, we generally won't hold any information about you — but if you contact us by email, we'll use your message only to reply, and delete it when it's no longer needed. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If Pip's features change in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
